It was fantastic to see the WA artistic swimming community come together for our recent Regional Competition, with athletes, coaches, judges and volunteers from across our clubs enjoying a great day of competition.
With beautiful sunny weather and plenty of swimmers in the water, the event provided another valuable opportunity for athletes to compete, gain experience and celebrate their progress.
It was particularly exciting to see athletes performing the new figures in competition for the first time. Many swimmers had only recently begun learning the new figures, and they did a fantastic job putting their new skills into practice. It was great to see their confidence, effort and progress throughout the competition.
Following the competition, ASWA also held a Coaches and Judges Workshop focused on the new figures. The session provided an opportunity for coaches and judges to work together, discuss the new figures and continue developing a consistent understanding of the technical requirements across WA.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing representatives from all WA clubs working together, sharing knowledge and supporting the ongoing development of our athletes, coaches and officials.
ASWA is extremely grateful for the ongoing support of Hancock Prospecting and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport. Their support plays an important role in helping us provide development opportunities for athletes, coaches and officials, and in continuing to strengthen artistic swimming across Western Australia.
Thank you to everyone who competed, coached, judged, volunteered and helped make the day such a success.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at the pool again soon!
